Description

The New Standard For Race Day

The Pirelli PZero Race Road Tire sets the standard as one of the lightest all-around tube-type tires for high-intensity training sessions and races.

The TechBELT Road carcass improves reliability against punctures without affecting the weight of the tire, while the special SmartEVO Compound enhances grip both on wet and dry asphalt compared to Pirelli's previous cycling compounds.

The new tube-type TechBELT Road carcass was developed to provide puncture protection in a wide variety of conditions. It consists of a light, yet flexible casing structure with an added layer of high-cut resistant fabric.

The SmartEVO Compound is a new formulation that enhances the grip of the tire, especially in cornering.

The tread pattern of PZero Race is an evolution of the design of PZero Velo — several seasons of research and development on the roads of the World Tour led to a new design that enhances performance in every weather condition.

As always, Pirelli draws upon their decades of experience crafting motorsport rubber to build their cycling tires. The results are exceptional.

Features

  • TechBELT Road carcass fo puncture protection
  • SmartEVO Compound enhances the grip
  • All-weather tread with ample sipings for water dispersion
  • 205g (26mm) 225g (28mm) 245g (30mm)

Excellent tire

Tried the PZero Race to replace Conti 5000, which are very tight and difficult to change on my road rims. I was pleasantly pleased that the PZero corners great with a smooth ride and holds up as long as the 5000 and is very easy to mount .

Review for Pirelli P Zero Velo Tire

For the longest time I was in serious like with Veloflex Master Clincher tires. Before that Vittoria Rubino Pros had my attention and prior to that the Continental Grand Prix series topped the charts. Then I picked up a pair of Pirelli PZero Velos and now I am officially in love. The traction on the PZeros makes cornering at high speeds worry free. Speaking of speed, these are tires feel fast and improve acceleration. Additionally, when I am sitting in a 22-25 mph pocket they really have a glide-like quality, especially on smooth pavement and warm SoCal days. I prefer riding with maximum levels of air pressure, which can sometimes take a toll on your body, but the PZeros have provided an excellent somewhat cushioned riding experience. Plus, the minimal graphics (clean black and silver colorway) gets 5 stars and are aesthetically fresh! I highly recommend these bad boys. Nice price from WBW, too. Buy a pair and you will see the light.

Average rides are 30 miles in fair weather, although we all get caught in rain sometime. Tires have good grip, corner well and give a comfortable ride. Amazing to me is their puncture resistance, I have not had so much as a cut. Also the wear pattern is even.

Best tire ever

Review for Pirelli P Zero Velo Tire

This tire feels fast. Has plenty of grip and gives you feedback from the road. Can't go wrong with Pirelli. Riding in the often rough back roads of central Indiana farm country, these tires are a game changer. Often is the ride where that exists that I find myself on a surprise gravel road and I have the confidence of a quality tire with excellent puncture protection. And on smooth tarmac they are quick.

I initially purchased size 28c, but later opted for an exchange to size 30c based on my research indicating that it would provide a more comfortable ride. The new tires have exceeded my expectations - the impact is reduced and the rolling resistance is significantly improved. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and would like to express my gratitude to your team for assisting me with the exchange process and providing valuable information about these tires.

Simply a Brilliant Tire!

I have lots of bikes that span Rim/Mechanical to Disc/Electronic abd I've tried all the high performance tires on my market, but always come back to the PZero. They're smooth, FAST, confident inspiring, stick like glue, they're actually very robust (especially when set-up tubeless) and mount with ease and only need a floor pump.

I have them from 26 to 32 and I'm each application they shine. The biggest compliment I can give any product is when you never think about it. That's the PZero... Set, Forget, Drop the hammer and just enjoy the ride!

I like this tire because I can mount it on tubeless rims not like continental 5000s. Plus they are dependable tires. Wear a little more than the continentals. Will continue to use them on both my triathlon and road bike. Also I own a ICE VTX trike and use the 28s on the back rim.

Fantastic tire, roll very well and are tough. One flat on two sets in three years. Great control. Ride up to 200 miles a week. Have one set on my Vitus 979 and the other is on a Schwinn Paramount. One of the best tires I have ridden.

I'm 6' 2" and 185 lbs. Usually run Specialized s-works turbo 26c or Vittoria Corsa 25c on my Campagnolo Bora Ultra clincher wheels. Love the Vittoria's, but wanted something more flat resistant. The s-works turbo worked well, but wanted a tan sidewall for a more vintage look. The Pirelli's are not as comfortable or as fast as the Vittoria's. The Perelli's feel faster than the s-works turbo and similar for comfort, and also come in tan sidewall. I feel the Perelli's are slightly better than the s-works turbo, but not quite as good as the Vittoria's

So far, so good

This is an early review, as I've only been on a few rides with this tire on the rear. So far, it is performing up to snuff. For comparison, I like the Vittoria Corsa Control and the Conti GP5000, but am not a fan of Schwalbe Pro One or Specialized Roubaix tires. Every rider has their sweet spot, combining durability, puncture resistance, and long lasting grippiness, and those are the metrics I base my assessments on. Since the Pirelli P-zero is still new to me, no strong opinion yet. It is true to size, and was reasonably easy to mount. Tread seems to be on the thin side, especially when compared to the Conti or Vittoria. Will update when I have a more definitive take.

Comparable with the Conti 5000. It is a little bit heavier but I started using because I was getting so many flats on The Conti 5,000 tires.

I use a Conti on my front tire. These on my back tire. I would say try it.
