Park Tool's MWF-3 Metric Flare Wrench is a purpose-built wrench designed for compression nuts, nipples and other fittings found on hydraulic brake systems. The five-sided flare wrench head evenly spreads out the force being applied to the wrench, reducing the risk of damage to fasteners and brake hoses. Features a slim, low-profile design to access low-clearance fittings found on hydraulic levers and calipers. Built-in 3/8" fittings allow for use with a torque wrench to achieve proper torque.

This tool is narrowly defined, but it is absolutely perfect for the task at hand

I use this in the shop for bleeding hydraulic brake systems on bikes. I used to just use a simple spanner and it would intermittently fall down (and sometimes take the hose off...big mess). Even if the spanner worked, it would not easily enable proper torque setting on the (somewhat fragile) nipple connector.
The MWF-3 has both 7mm and 8mm wrenches and both are equipped with a 3/8" socket that you can plug a mini torque wrench into for sealing up worry-free!

I needed to R&R the rear brake caliper, and therefore had to get the right tools. This wrench has the sizes I needed, and is overall a quality tool. I did have to file down the outside of the 7mm side because it was a little too fat to fit between the bleed screw and the body of the caliper. Once that was done it did the job well.

Works as it should in combination with 3/8lb torque wrench.
