Specialized tool to fit 12-spline lockring. I found it helpful to hold it in place by re-inserting quick release skewer before wrenching to keep it from slipping out.

Does what it's supposed to

I bought this after I realized that my FR-1 tool would only work with my SRAM lockrings. I figured it was cheaper to buy a second tool and made more sense than replacing all my Shimano lockrings with SRAM models! It works like it's supposed to and the price was great. In fact, the design is better than the SRAM version because the splines are better defined, which results in no slippage.

Good Cassette Tool
rating

I recently bought some Zip Firecrest 404's from Western Bike Works and needed to change the cassette from my old wheelset to the new 404's. Using the Park Tool FR-5 cassette tool along with a Park chain whip I was easily and quickly able to change the cassette over to my new wheels. By the way - love my 404's!

Never disappointed when I buy Park Tools. New disc wheels required me to buy this new tool. The old one is at least 25 years old works great but wont work with disc hubs.

I used this to take off my cassette that was put my old wheels, and also put on my old cassette to my new wheels. This tool works seamlessly and is just a must get if you are using a Sram or Shimano cassette.
