Developed exclusively for Orca with Yamamoto corporation, Yamamoto 44 is the most stretchable wetsuit material available and only 1.5mm thick. Strategic placing of Yamamoto 44 fabric allows for a smaller zip than other wetsuits on the market. A smaller zip means less restriction and at the same time improves the product's waterproofing. The new zip system also prevents the wetsuit from opening during the race. Also developed with Yamamoto exclusively for Orca, 0.88 Free technology combines 5 thin layers of neoprene with a layer of reflective titanium. This combination allows the Alpha to provide exceptional thermal insulation while still measuring in at an astonishing 0.5mm thick, making it the thinnest wetsuit material on the market. The revolutionary 0.88 Free material is used in the arms and back, enabling a greater stroke length and marks a significant step forward in wetsuit technology.
The wetsuit's outer Super Composite Skin (SCS) coating has become the benchmark for neoprene coating in triathlon wetsuits. SCS coatings reduce friction in the water ensuring the fastest swim possible. Less friction equals more speed and the underwater dynamic friction co-efficient of the Nano SCS coating is 0.026 in comparison to 4.0 of regular neoprene. On the inside, the Infinity Skin lining provides the feeling of absolute freedom. Designed with a high-elasticity nylon that incorporates bamboo fibres, Infinity Skin offers greater flexibility while also maintaining body heat longer and reducing odor causing bacteria in the wetsuit.
HydroLite panels not only help the wetsuit come off easier for faster transitions but when combined with the SCS coating, causes water to slide off the wetsuit, without permeating it. This combination considerably helps your hydrodynamics. FT1 technology, exclusively from Orca, consists of ribbed neoprene and is used in the lower joints to achieve maximum elasticity to boost your kick. Finally, The buoyancy offered by this wetsuit keeps your position raised and horizontal without interfering with your swimming technique.
