There’s nowhere to hide.
With powerfully abrasive cleaning teeth, face-to-face rotating brush wheels that furnish 120 points of contact and the enclosed grease-cutting Drivetrain Cleaner, there’s nowhere for chain grime to hide from Muc-Off’s X-3 Dirty Chain Machine. Thanks to the grooved handle connected to the bottom half of the machine, it’s easy to hold it steady while rotating your chain. After discovering how effective and straightforward it is, you’ll be relieved to know that the Dirty Chain Machine features a patent-pending heavy-duty design so you can reliably use it for years to come. For easy cleaning, the top and bottom halves of the machine easily unclip and clasp back together.

Easier than a brush but not the ultimate answer
This works to get off the obvious grease and grime, but the last time I used it there was residual grease on the chain after rinsing. The screws on the top of the unit are extremely cheap and if any moisture is around they will rust. Absurd to have such cheap screws on a piece of equipment that will be used with liquids. Not very impressed with this product for deep cleaning and its quality of construction. I would not buy it again as it costs much too much money for what you get. I will be surprised if it lasts a year.
