Description
Just one ride and you'll be hooked.
The Maxxis Hookworm 29" tire is the original urban assault tire, designed to take the abuses of the most aggressive street riders. Bead-to-bead tread provides durability and traction whether you're on the commute, or hopping curbs.
Features:
- Curved grooved slick design.
- Rim to rim tread-protected sidewalls.
- Available in one size: 29 x 2.5".
- Claimed weight: 1,230g.

Very low rolling resistance, but poor road hazard resistance.

Very low rolling resistance but very easy low road hazard resistance. Got 3 flats on 3 bike trips. Even the smallest piece of hair like wire made the tire go flat. No center tire tread resistance. Have changed tire brand since.

Love these tires (29x2.5). Once you get them mounted (not as easy as most tires) they are excellent all-around urbanpavement tires. I use them mostly to ride to work and paved Rail-Trials. I did try them on sand and dirt and it was impossible to turn properly, front tire would slide. I have 29mm ID rims bringing the overall width of this tire to 66.8 mm, 2.6 inches 65psi. This left about a 14 clearance on each side of my 2019 Kona Honzo Hardtail. So far I have a little over 200 miles on them with no problems. Love the ride. These tires stomp the small road debris.

Glued to the roads
by Craig

I converted an old GS29 mountain bike into a street rider. I added a 750 W electric motor with a 52 tooth front sprocket, air front forks and disc brakes. A 1000 watt 52 volt battery provides the juice. This baby flies !! These tires handle awesomely on the straights and especially in the curves. The roads in my town are not very smooth.

Fast tire

These tires are thicker and heavier than the G-ones that came off my class 3 e-bike. They are much more resistant to flats and handle 28 mph no problem. I have over 1000 miles on them now and they have hardly worn. I will be sticking with these tires.

Excellent Grip - smooth rolling effort - 65 PSI rated
by Anonymous

Sellers seldom display the PSI rating for any bicycle tire, so I will. It rolls easy and has extraordinary grip. If you want a tire that is wide and offers traction with a large variety of surface types, then this is your tire! It rolls well over grass, dry or wet dirt, muddy caliche, small rocks, and yes - wet or dry smooth concrete or asphalt. It's a gripper.

It's printed right on the tire to inflate to 65 PSI - something sellers don't print on their websites.
These tires are great! They grip and roll very well over pavement, grass, and wet earth that's ridable.

I have a Trek Marlin 7 (2019) and these fit just fine. They are definitely heavier than the original nubby tires that came with the bike but I have absolute confidence they'll hold up for a long long time and I'm faster with them because of the smooth rolling surface.

Grippy tire for street

I like these tires on my Trek Marlin 6 . They are very grippy and wide for street use. Just wish they came in a slightly more narrower profile like 2.20 or 2.30
