Description

Maxxis Dissector WT 27.5 x 2.4 3C/EXO/TR MTB Tire

Maxxis Dissector is "Unicorn" Tire - a center tread design that carries speed easily but with edge blocks worthy of world-class cornering speed. The Dissector center knobs are all heavily ramped to minimize drag, but retain sharp, flat edges along their backs to provide strong braking traction.

Small sipes give the knobs additional flexion, increasing their surface area during braking and aiding the transition to the edge blocks when cornering.

Features:

  • Recommended as a rear tire
  • Ideal for dry, fast trails
  • Tubeless compatible
  • Wide Trail casing optimized for 30-35mm rims

Rides well but not 2.4 width on narrower rims!

I was riding a more aggressive set of tires that cornered very well but had a lot of drag. So thought I would give these a try. They do roll faster with less rolling resistance and corner well once you trust you can lean them over to the outer knobs. Note I'm running 28mm ID width rims and these tires only measure 2.25 inches knob to knob. You would have to run a 35mm ID rim to even come close to the 2.4 inch width they state. Since they are only 2.25 they ride a little harder then my previous tires that were really 2.4 inches. Cornering is not quite as stable I think but I'm still getting used to the tire and will lower tire pressure to see if that will improve overall stability. But for a fast rolling tire it is pretty good!

    Great low-weight Enduro Tire

I love the grip, toughness, and traction this tire provides on our terrain. Lighter than a DHR, as grippy in the rear as a DHR, if not more so, but also works as a front. Low rolling resistance, too. No punctures in my experience and my favorite trail is quite rocky. Can't go wrong here.
