Surefooted Feel For Trail, Enduro, and Downhill Conditions

Greg Minnaar's signature tire – the Maxxis Assegai – provides tenacious, predictable grip across the entire profile no matter the lean angle. The Assegai can be used front and rear for a surefooted feel or as a front paired with a faster rolling rear tire.

The Maxxis Assegai Wide Trail 3C/EXO/TR 27.5" MTB Tire features 3C MaxxTerra tire compound for excellent traction in all conditions. 3C MaxxTerra is softer and offers more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, yet provides better treadwear and less rolling resistance than MaxxGrip.

EXO Protection is an extremely cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of these Maxxis mountain bike tires. This densely woven fabric is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tire remains unaffected. EXO Protection is perfect for exceptionally rocky, treacherous trails where the chance of sidewall cuts and abrasions is high.

The Assegai is, of course, tubeless-ready. Tubeless downhill and trail set-ups are a great way to shave some weight and protect against punctures. Sealant-compatible rubber is used with the familiar Maxxis dual-ply 60 TPI downhill construction and butyl insert for support and rim protection in order to offer the benefits of increased grip and reliability. A Tubeless Ready bead securely locks to the rim and the foldable bead provides additional weight savings.
