Master the Mountain.
Mavic’s XA Pro MTB Shoe inspires masterly mountain biking mania thanks to an Energy Grip Trail and Contagrip® outsole that delivers stability on the pedals and all-terrain traction, a protective molded toe cap, and a damage-defying anti-rip upper. That’s not all, though; the lightweight carbon composite internal plate yields an ideal balance of stiffness and flex for efficient pedaling and comfortable walking. Mavic’s Ergo Dial QR with a structured rubber ring offers incremental adjustment for a custom fit, unwavering tension when you need it, and immediate release of tension when you don’t, so there’s no fuss when it’s time to take them off. Mavic’s Endofit™ Tongue, Ergo Fit 3D+ Ortholite® insole, and cushioned EVA midsole gently and expertly swaddle each foot ‒ like a mother to her babe ‒ for next-level support and comfort.

Comfortable for walking good for riding
Palm Springs, CA
I bought these for use with a travel road bike that I use at our vacation home in the desert. I like mountain shoes for this particular bike because I'm more likely to dismount and do a little walking when I travel.
These are super comfortable for walking and good for riding. This is the first pair of non-Sidi shoes I've purchased in at least 10 years and wanted to make sure that they would be comfortable before committing to keeping them. I wore them around the inside of the house for a day before mounting my cleats. I'm not saying that there so comfortable that you'd wear them for regular shoes, but they felt pretty good!
The shoes have been good on the road. Power transfer is good, and I feel like visibility must be great with the bright yellow soles. This might not be important for off-road, but anything that makes me stand out in traffic is a big plus!
One caveat. I like my shoes either really low around the ankle, or really high. These are a little high for low shoes and I was a little concerned that they might rub against the underside of my ankles. But they've been fine.
