The Jack of all trades.
If you're looking for a wide wheel that's light enough to make climbs a breeze yet tough enough to handle charging through a rock garden, you'll want to pick up a pair of Knight Composites 27.5" Enduros. Knight might be a new name to you, but with over 50+ years of combined experience, they are certainly not new to the carbon game. Based out of Bend, OR, Knight set out to make a lightweight carbon wheelset that truly can do it all.
In order to deliver one wheelset that's equally suited to enduro races and all-mountain exploration, Knight turned to their unique Expanded Polystyrene (E.P.S.) molding process. Rather than using the standard inflatable bladder molding process, Knight has made a name for themselves as the only company to use Expanded Polystyrene molding for an inner surface as smooth and wrinkle free as the outside. The result is a tuned carbon layup for a lighter, stiffer wheel with 30% more impact resistance and lateral rigidity than the competition.
With a 30mm wide spoke bed, the Knight 27.5 Enduro's will easily mount up a 2.5" tire to handle the worst that the mountain can throw at you. Choosing the Project 321 Boost hubsets, using magnetic pawls to deliver a high engagement drivetrain that reduces drag and rides nearly silently. With the boost spacing provided by the Project 321 hubs, you get a wider axle for a stronger, stiffer, and more efficient wheelset.
