Easy and Smooth Rolling.

I have found that the Kenda K193 Kwest 20 inch Tire (406) to be the smoothest and easy rolling tire, of all the different tires, that I have used on my Tri-Cruiser in 26,000 miles. I use mostly on hard surface Rail to Trails and local streets. I will be getting 3,000 miles or more on the tires. I have experienced 3 flats, one where the side wall was scored by a sharp grate end that was exposed on a bridge crossing. One where a thorn cut several cords and the tire failed. One puncture that posed no future problems. It is the best tire buy I have found for my Tri-Cruiser.

Good value for the price

Great tire for the budget minded shopper that wants a reasonably fast tire (When run at the upper end of the pressure rating)

Size wise the 20(406)x1.5 mounts a little smaller than Schwalbe Marathon

They were easy to mount and i have been satisfied due to the low cost

I didn't know they made a 20 road tire. I run these on my cargo trailer and at 300 miles they still look new. They are very puncture resistant, I do have a very small hole somewhere as one tire goes flat over 4 to 5 days, but that's it for a couple of months now.

Not a 20in tire!

These are so bad. They have 20inch written on the packaging and the tire and even the kenda tubes, but they are definitely NOT 20 inches diameter. More like 18. Don't waste your time or money.

You are probably looking for an ISO 451 size tire, which is also labeled as a 20 inch tire. These are not the same size. Please call our customer service agents if you are not sure which size you are looking for and we can assist you.

Meh...

This one came as stock on the front wheel of my new Sun recumbent. After less than a year, it developed an ominous bulge, which told me blow out was imminent. The 26 version on the rear did not do this. But neither are what I'd call particularly flat resistant or durable, both succumbed to the dreaded goat head several times.

I suggest you FIND the extra money for one of the Schwalbe Marathon variants...you'll save money AND trouble over the long run.

I have a 3 wheel recumbent road tricycle. This is my second purchase of the tires, the first set lasted over 3500 miles, prior to these tires I tried several different brands , I was lucky if they lasted more than 500 miles. They were priced 80 to 100% higher than these Kenda's. I ride 5 days a week in my Southern California community. For a recreational biker these tires pound for pound and dollar for dollar the most reliable performance of any tire I have ever used

I have been using this tire for commuting and touring on a single bike for years, averaging about 3000 miles per tire. I'm a somewhat heavy guy riding a cycle path that is prone to sharp bumps, so they have served well. They are stiff and therefore have a harsher ride and are probably less efficient.

Be aware that the other reviewer's bike is a tandem. Like the other reviewer, we tried to use them on a recumbent tandem, but they only lasted about 1500 miles before the cord started to distort. IMHO, this is not a suitable tire for the double load of a touring tandem. But it's hard to tell, since they don't publish weight limits.

Tire handled well on front of Rans Screamer tandem recumbent but had sudden blowout at about 500 miles

Kenda Kwest 20x1.5 came with the Rans Screamer (bought used about 5 years ago from original owner who I know). Like the rigidity of the 100 psi tire on the tandem. First tire blew sidewall this spring (2013) at about 500 miles. Direct replacement blew at center of tread last week (about 6 months in service and 500 miles). Unfortunately haven't found anything better in the 40x406 size so will try yet another Kwest.

every one of the kenda quest 20 and 16 I used on my long wheel base recumbent has blown out.

these are 100psi rated and I only apply 90 psi.

the side walls can't take the pressure.

I wouldn't put them on a kids bike!

Tough Little Tire!

I use these tires on a folding bike. I generally ride on paved surfaces with maybe 20% of my time spent on gravel or dirt. I don't ride hard since my bike is not built for that kind of riding. That said, I find these tires to be an exceptional value. They can handle a whole lot more than I throw at them. I highly recommend this tire.

This tire is mounted on the front of my 2004 Burley Canto. I replaced both tires and both tubes at the same time (a similar tire & tube on the 26 rear, only because all were over 7 years old). I noticed that the sidewalls appeared more robust than the old ones. To my surprise and delight, performance improvement was immediately noticeable, for far less effort greater acceleration and speed. I love my bike anew!

I own 2 long wheel base recumbents, 1 with two 20inch wheels and one with a 20inch and 16inch.i

In 2 years I had to replace 2 20inch tires and a 16inch due to bulges from internal cord separation.

I due not recommend inflating anywhere near the max rated pressure.
