Just you and the crew.

The Ibex Men's Woolies 1 Crew Baselayer is the reference when it comes to Merino baselayers. It hits the the sweet spot using 18.5 micron New Zealand Merino fibers knit into a lightweight fabric, resulting in luxurious softness that still handles the wear and tear of winter use. On first inspection, you might think the 165 g/m2 weight is too thin for your liking, but somewhere in the middle of its inaugural ride, you'll realize it's absolutely perfect when it comes to keeping you warm without sweating-out like heavier first layers.

In the case things do get a little heated, the light knit dries faster than thicker baselayers, and the Ibex Woolies are also machine washable when you've finally taken the Merino wool's natural anti-odor characteristics to their limit.

Form fit. Available in multiple colors.

  • 165 g/m2 weight New Zealand Merino Wool
  • Rib knit
  • Flatlock seams
  • Tag free
  • Machine washable

Top Notch Stuff

Ibex makes great gear and this is no exception. This baselayer is perfect under a light jacket in the 40's, down to the lowmid-30's. It's very thin and the fit is perfect for me (Size medium. 6' tall, 175, 40" chest). I have 2 but really one would do it. Regardless of how soaked it gets from sweat, it dries fast and never smells. I only wash it out of habit every couple weeks. Gross? Maybe. But it's just that good!

Warm & Cozy

I love the shirt. It's comfortable, even on bare skin, and provides the right level of warmth. It fits well-I have very long arms, so sleeves are usually a problem-and keeps me warm and dry under my windstopper jacket.

Better than lycra, by far!

Comfortable, retains it's shape after washings (12 a dozen or so thus far), breathable, very comfortable, and keeps me sufficiently warm (below a thermal jersey and a short sleeve jersey in temps in the low 40's).

I did not know what to expect from this product and was very pleasantly surprised. I bought it as an alternative to lycra products from Under Armour and others that I have been wearing. The lycra tends to hold a bit of a funk after many uses, despite washing it every time it's used. So far, the wool has been excellent. I like enough that I bought another long sleeve as well as a short sleeve. Yes, it's quite a bit more expensive than lycra which is why it's not a steal, even when it is on sale.
