This 3/4 bib tights are about perfect for me on rides in cooler temps. I have used them into the high 40's and they have been warm enough, but not to the point of over heating when the temp climbs into the low 60's. The padding is very comfortable, as well as the fit of the tights.
Gore is known for their quality products and this is no exception. The knickers are well made and durable, but the sizing is a wee bit wonky. I'm 6' - ish 175 lbs, and the medium was far too tight for me. Plus the straps are made of a slightly rougher material, so prolonged tight straps caused rubbing. A large fit just right!
Got these on sale and am very happy, 6'0, 160 lbs, the medium fits well. Unlike some other posters, I find these good down to low 40's if I know it's going to get warmer when the sun comes out. I've ridden these as warm as low 60's at which point they start to get too warm. Good chamois and seems aren't intrusive.
Overall, a very nice product. I bought these on sale; a very good deal. On cold mornings, a high pair of socks gets you covered. Not great for really cold mornings in the low 40's, but still way better than just shorts.
