Good watch for cycling and fitness tracking
by Anonymous

I got this for cycling to replace an old Polar chest strap/wrist watch HRM when the chest strap finally stopped working and there was no compatible replacement. I intended to just use it for cycling, but it is very comfortable and not too big and clunky, so now I wear the Garmin as my daily use watch, It also supports my workplace fitness program (steps, stairs, etc.), so it makes me eligible for company swag through that program. Of course it is providing heart rate, speed, ascents, calories and distance for my cycling, and I don't need to remember to put on a chest strap. My old HRM was not a linked device, so I had to use a separate Android phone app to track my performance. The Garmin links to the Map My Ride app, so now I can easily find all my data in 1 place. I've also loaded some music on it, but I rarely use that feature as I don't like wearing ear buds. Now for the nitpicking. It seems to under report my heartrate using the wrist measurement compared to a chest strap, but I am using that data for relative measurements anyway. It is always pinging my phone for the "connect" service when ever it comes into range, which is annoying. It also seems to have trouble accurately measuring stair use. It under reports stair climbing a little, but it never records descending the stairs. I never use the elevator, so it seems odd that I have lots of ascents, and no descents. The price was good though and it has every feature I wanted plus a lot more. It only needs charging every few days, and it charges pretty quickly. All in all, I'm very happy with it.

2 years in to this watch..
by Joe A

You need to have a little bit of wonk in

you to appreciate and access all the features. If you have limited dollars and a wide range of activities you want to measure this is definitely the watch. When this finally dies I will upgrade to the music version but until then I will keep this running at the gym, on bike rides, and just everyday activities

Not worth the money
by Anonymous

This watch does not track open water swims or triathlons. The music component is very difficult to load. It does not sync to my wireless headphones if my phone is near and then when it does has a failure every time. It tracks runs, swims and bike rides but if you are doing more not good. Alos the stop watch is switched on and won't switch off and drains the battery quickly.
