Garmin's Vector 2S Power Pedal System improves on their first generation one-sided pedal-based power meter system with enhanced data measurement and easier installation and use. This left-side only power meter pedal has a revamped pedal pod that rids the use of finicky washers, insteading using a clamp system permitting the installation of the pedal first, and the pod merely clamps on over it. An LED status indicator on the pod provides information for proper installation and maintenance including pedal pairing status and battery replacement. As always, the ANT+® transmission means it's compatible with Garmin Edge® computers, Forerunner® watches or other ANT+® enabled devices.

Includes left-side Vector 2S pedal and pedal pod, right non-sensing pedal, Look Keo compatible cleats and hardware, USB ANT Stick&trade, and installation tool. The included standard pedal pod fits crank arms 12-15 mm in thickness and up to 44 mm in width. Claimed weight for the Vector 2S pedal and pod is 179 g and 164 g for the non-sensing right pedal. Rider weight limit is 200 lbs.

Easy to install and use. Excellent training tool

I use three second power and mainly monitor to keep from blowing up or getting lazy. Much better metric than speed...

Need a torque wrench and crow foot tool to install. I picked up a crow foot set of wrenches from Harbor Freight but had to grind the tool to fit the bike pedals. If you plan to install on your own order crow foot that fits when you buy pedals. Torque is surprisingly light.

Good alternative

I was in the market for a reasonably priced power measuring device. I did not want a hub based unit and was looking for a crank or pedal based unit. I prefer the PowerTap P1 pedals from a technical perspective (all-in-the-pedal, versus the hanging pod at the pedal). While I would have preferred the dual pedal option as well, the price differential was enough to go with the single side measuring. Also, none of the crank arm based units would fit my cranks without upgrading - a cost I did not want to incur.

I also did not need leftright for my type of training. I am training for ultra racing and power balance is less important than power levels.

I have had the pedals installed for 3 months and have found the power pedal measuring consistent.

However, I do have concerns long term. I typically get about 15,000 miles out of my Look Keo2Max pedals before the wear plates wear to show the carbonplastic underneath. Hopefully, repair parts will be available by the time I get to that point.

Vector 2S Does not come with the crow foot adapter installation tool.

Your website shows and states the Vector 2S comes with the crow foot installation tool. Per Garmin it does not.

Only the Vector 2 does. The picture of the crowfoot tool and statement that it is included on the vector 2 S should be corrected.
