Description

Data Driven Training

Monitor your speed and cadence as you ride with these easy-to-install wireless sensors. With no magnets or other exposed parts to line up, these sensors are easy to install, maintain, and move between bikes.

The Speed Sensor 2 attaches to the hub of either wheel and self-calibrates with your Edge cycling computer or compatible Garmin device to give you accurate speed and distance at all times even without a head unit.

The Cadence Sensor 2 fastens to any size crank arm and measures pedal strokes per minute so you can get the most out of your training. Send live speed, distance and cadence data to compatible training apps or displays by using ANT+ connectivity and BLUETOOTH Low Energy technology.

With both of these sensors on your bike, you can work to improve your personal best or see where you stand against the pros.

Features:

  • Speed Sensor 2 attaches to the wheel-hub to give accurate speed and distance
  • Cadence Sensor 2 fastens to non-drive side crankarm
  • Transmits data via ANT+ and Bluetooth
  • Syncs with Garmin Connect app, other training apps
  • Speed Sensor 2 includes three rubber straps for universal fit
  • Low profile and easy to install
  • Li-Ion 1450mAh 3.7 Volt battery
  • Weight: 96g

Garmin Tech speaks for itself

I've been using Garmin technologies for many, many years ranging from Fenix watches and various bike computers (Edge 530, 830 and 1040). They are all fantastic and communicate flawlessly with Garmin bike speed & cadence sensors 2. These sensors are a great value, easy to install and battery life is excellent! Never had a need to compare Garmin against other brands namely due to complete satisfaction with Garmin. I can say if you have a rare occasion where you have an issue, Garmin technical support and customer service is fantastic.

These just worked

Was having trouble with my speed sensor due to the wheel magnet slipping. My son had these and I thought the design was better than the common magnet-and-sensor variety. Installed easily, paired quickly with head unit (Karoo 2), and has been trouble-free since. Cannot ask for more!

Great! Easy to install on the bike and connected with my Garmin 810 pretty quickly, once I figured out the correct settings. Comes with full batteries, and started up and had been working reliably since.

They work well!

I have the speed and cadence sensors paired with an Edge 500 and they work well. If ever there is a question Garmin is super supportive and dealing with Western Bike Works is as good as it gets.

Ordered these to work with my new Karoo Hammerhead II and I was pleasantly surprised how easy they paired up together! They work great on my road bike, couldn't ask for anything more! Great price, super fast shipping, definitely scored! If you're in need of some sensors and are biking on a budget, these are the ones to grab!

Big Win: makes the Garmin Edge complete

As a new Garmin 830 user I was disappointed at how slow it was at updating speed in GPS only mode. I could see from my old bike computer that the Garmin display was often way off. The speed sensor fixed it right up. I bought the speed-cadence bundle because it was on sale and they’ve both worked great: easy install and pairing, head unit detects them and any other sensors with no effort.

I bought the speed sensor to see how fast i was on a second bike. The cadence sensor measures my peddle speed against my actual speed 20 mph and im at 92 cadence

Both my wife and I have these to connect to our Garmin 520+ computers. They are easy to mount on a wheel and the cranks, and it is easy to adjust the location if you find yourself hitting the cadence sensor with your stroke.

Great for trainer use, meh for trail use

These are great for trainer use, giving you interesting data when you have to ride in place. Meanwhile, if you have to load your bike for a drive for a ride, the speed sensor is a bother. It will register each walk from house to car as a ride, and post that amazing data to strava. Took it off after getting kudos on one too many .39 mile rides.

Garmin's Only Choice of Sensors?

These work well, but I didn't ask for clunky-looking items to mount on my crank arms and hubs. Why did Garmin discontinue the dual sensor that mounted neatly on the chain stay. Probably because all of those that I owned eventually failed. All they needed to do was update the housing and seal it better.

This combo was really easy to set up and use. The only issue was the mounting system for the speed sensor. The bands aren't long enough to accommodate an internally geared hub but I was able to add an additional band I had. Using it on my recumbent on an older trainer to add some stats for motivation. Easy to pair with my phone and Garmin vivoactive 3 watch once you get the hang of it.

Speed is on the front wheel hub and the cadence is on the left pedal crank. They are easy to assemble and place on the bike.

I installed the new speed sensors on my new carbon wheel set. It is a much safer and easier installation from the older style sensor, which actually damaged my carbon rim. It installs very easily as well.

Im gradually winding my way into the new century with my first wireless Garmin setup, and Ive been accumulating various widgets to that end. I have these paired to a little Garmin Edge 25 and it works fine. I also have a Varia 2 in the mix and it all works. The only caveat is that I have to start riding before I turn on the Head unit and it then recognizes all 3 devices.

With all of my stay-mounted Garmin dual sensors now failed, this is the only Garmin option. I wish these weren't so bulky and ugly. They work fine and can be easily transferred. Garmin should repair or replace the dual sensor parts instead of keep making more electronic waste.
