Send it through the mud.

The Fulcrum Racing 5 LG CX Wheelset's 23 mm wide cyclocross-specific rims are optimized for 25 mm - 32 mm cyclocross tires, and they feature double-sealed cup-and-cone bearings to keep out the mud and the sand. Rim depths are 24.5 mm in the front and 27.5 in the rear for the best blend of handling and stiffness, and a machined braking track ensures excellent stopping power in wet conditions. These wheels feature an asymmetric rear wheel with a larger drive side flange for more balanced spoke tension, resulting in better reactivity and durability.

The stainless steel bladed spokes are straight-pull with 18 in the front and 20 in the rear. Laced with alloy nipples to cut down rotating mass. Claimed weight is 1664 g.

Strong wheels and fast a great price.

Needed a new set of wheels and wanted something that could hold up to my weight (210 lbs) but still be fairly light and fast. These have worked great so far, about 850 miles on them. They were true out of the box and are still true. These replaced Rolf Vector Pros that needed to be replaced and I have to admit that I can't really tell any difference in how they ride or roll both wheel sets are very good but a big difference in price. The roads here where I ride are not the best, pot holes, rough and uneven and the wheels handle them well. I know these wheels are designed for cycle cross, but work for the road as well and if you are on the heavy side and need a fast and strong wheel these might work for you.

Great value wheelset for first upgrade

The stock wheels that came on my bike wore out after about 3,000 miles. I wanted to upgrade a bit but I wasn't ready to spend as much as (or more than) my bike on wheels. I now have almost 3,600 miles on the Fulcrum's and they're doing great! I was a bit worried that the low spoke count would be an issue with my weight (205 lbs) but they've been solid. The only time I had to true it was when I wasn't paying attention and hit a pothole and didn't get my weight off the saddle. Even then it was kind of a freak thing where it happened to hit at just the wrong spot and it allowed a spoke in the rear wheel to untwist a bit. A quarter turn on the spoke nipple and it was all good again! One thing of note the spoke nipples are a bit larger I think than some other standard ones, I had one of those spoke wrenches that can fit 3 different sizes that worked with several other sets of wheels but was too small for the Fulcrums.

Overall, these things are pretty light for the price, roll fast, and have been great for commuting, group riding, and the occasional race! No regrets on this purchase!
