The Clean Fi'zi:k Aesthetic In A Wider Fit
The Overcurve R4's classic aesthetic belies an advanced construction technique: a resilient polyurethane laminated material is combined over a comfortable mesh, reducing energy loss and providing long-lasting foot support where it's most needed.
Designed with a performance fit for riders with wider feet, the Overcurve R4 Wide provides a higher volume fit with more room at the forefoot around the ball of the foot and metatarsals.
Overcurve
Shoe closure is fast, reliable, and secure, powered by a micro-adjustable BOA® IP1 dial in an Overcurve pattern.
The Overcurve shoe construction features a staggered collar that wraps around the ankle, tracing the natural alignment of the ankle's two bony protrusions: the lateral and medial malleoli. The result is an asymmetrical shape, with the throat of the shoe curving over the foot from its outside to its inner side.
R4 Outsole
The moderately stiff R4 outsole strikes a balance between comfort and pedaling efficiency to make it a true all-rounder, featuring a lower profile structurally optimized with a 15% infused carbon fiber composition.
The R4 outsole further provides efficient ventilation with internal channeling for effective temperature regulation. The cleat is positioned slightly further towards the heel compared to traditional placement to optimize pedaling efficiency and reduce knee compression, especially suited to aggressively forward aero riding positions.

Very comfortable for wider feet, good value for the price

This is my first pair of three-bolt road shoes and I'm very glad that after vast research I've made the right decision. Overall, great price for what they offer and most importantly they fit very well for my slighter wider feet. It's surprising that with just one BOA closure system it doesn't create any hot spots for me. I wear US 9.5, bought these in EU 42.5 based on their size chart and they fit perfectly. Ventilation is fairly good as I've ridden these in 80F for about 3 hours and still feel comfortable. Not the stiffest cycling shoes I've owned but decent. For reference I've owned couple pairs of Pearl Izumi and Giro two-bolt CX/XC-oriented shoes in the past 10 years or so, and always felt the toe boxes from both brands were tight and barely acceptable for me. Now I am looking for Fizik's off-road offerings, and perhaps get a second pair of these Tempo Overcurve R4 Wide in White, if Western stocks them.

Comfortable and functional shoes

The is my first pair of Fizik shoes. They look and feel good. I don't have particularly wide feet (D) and the wide shoe fits me perfectly. I usually wear a 12 to 12 1/2 and the size 46 fits well. The BOA closure works great and gets them snug and comfortable.
I've put in a few hundred miles so far with a few 50+ mile rides and my feet have been comfortable. On hot rides, I've noticed that these shoes are less ventilated than my older LG shoes and my feet get warmer than I would like. Overall, I'm very pleased with these shoes and will strongly consider Fizik for my next pair.

I have a hard time getting bike shoes wide enough. These are great shoes - nice and stiff and plenty of room for my XL feet.
