Description
The Key To Keeping Cool
The Craft Men's Cool Mesh Superlight Sleeveless Baselayer improves ventilation in hot weather by allowing air to flow between the skin and a jersey.
The lightweight waffle mesh is made with big-hole construction to form air channels, and the ergo fit with flat-lock seams makes it practically disappear on the bike.
It is designed to cool your body 6 degrees by using a six-channel Coolmax fiber, and the large hole mesh construction creates the ideal evaporative cooling environment.
This baselayer wicks moisture and drys quickly allowing your body to thermo-regulate during those hot summer rides, runs, or training sessions.

Reviews
The best hot weather undershirt I have found, regardless of price. I size down one size so that it fits like a second skin. The length is generous so I never feel like it's becoming untucked. I have many of these - mesh and non-mesh are both excellent depending on weather conditions.
If, like me, you aren't waiting for the "perfect" weather to ride you'll be surprised to find yourself ordering this 'base layer' again after using it on a 90-degree day. This base layer is a micro thin sweat wicking layer that allows your body to keep your core temperature lower. While it doesn't replace drinking massive amounts of fluid when the heat index is over a hundred degrees every little bit helps. I am 5'9' inches , 164 pounds and wear medium. My 5' 1"' wife who hikes a lot has two in size small. If you ride frequently having a second set is nice though I have hand washed mine and they dry almost instantly.
When the heat index is between 90-100 degrees you may not think of adding another layer until you try this base layer. Then you look for it each and every hot weather ride. This micro thin layer absorbs sweat and then the convection cooling that keeps your core temperature down is enhanced. I now have two of them even though they quickly dry after hand washing to get the salt off. I also bought them for my hiking wife. I am 5 feet nine inches tall and between 160 pounds. A medium size fits just
fine.
Very lightweight, buy a size down if you are use to a Euro race fit...I usually wear a size large in euro tops, xlarge in Castelli baselayers, but a medium fit the bill here...the fabric is so stretchy and comfortable I probably could have fit the small...We had a two week hot and humid streak here in NYC and this performed admirably in providing a cooling effect on the bike...I bought a white and black one on sale with what I think was a 30% discount...A Win Win all the way around...
I've been using it as a base layer for cold riding under a castelli convertible gabba jacket/jersey. It works great! I'm comfortable through out the ride. It wicks very well and feels dry at the end of the ride. I am going to try it in the summer under a jersey, but I'm reluctant to believe that any base layer can be cooling.
I had never worn base layers except in cold weather, but after seeing many pros wear mesh base layers in hot weather, I decided to give this a try.
I wish I had tried these a long time ago. Using one under bibshorts is much more comfortable - no more chafing from the straps, cooler in hot weather (as long as you're not wearing a tight black jersey), and warmer in cool weather.
I now own several of these and they've survived many dozens of washes with no adverse effects.
I'm 165 and 5'-10" and bought the medium. Perfect fit all around and very breathable. Works great under short sleeve jerseys on warmer days to stay cool, and under long sleeves for just a bit of extra warmth to take the chill off.
Cycling clothing is so expensive. I'm getting older now and wanted to get into base layer clothing. I was skeptical of this product due to the low price but was pleasantly surprised. Fit and quality are top notch and it works as advertised. satisfied customer.
I hardly ever do casual rides, I get on the bike, warm up and crank. I have two craft mesh base layers and I swear by them. They keep me dry and comfortable by wicking my perspiration away from me. When I finish my rides I can't believe how wet my jerseys are when I take them off.
This mesh baselayer helps on a hot day. It keeps some flow circulating under your jersey. I like a snug fit for a baselayer, which opens up the gaps in the mesh, and find this runs large. I normally wear a large jersey and found a medium was the best fit.
