Description

Superior Mixed-Terrain Traction — Continental Kryptotal FR

Continental's brand new line of gravity tires has arrived! This means a full range of big, beefy, downhill-focused bruisers with no shortage of grip, tooth, cornering confidence, durability and monster traction available in four condition-specific models — from hardpack trails to loose and muddy downhill lines.

The Continental Kryptotal FR 29er is optimized for premium front-wheel traction in mixed terrain and conditions. The Kryptotal's aggressive, front-specific tread pattern uses alternating rows of perpendicularly-siped center lugs to dig in to anything from dry, hardpack XC trails, to loose, wet, rooty lines while a formidable ridge of tight and toothy cornering knobs lock down traction through the corners. Available in a corresponding rear-specific Kryptotal design and three casing options — trail, enduro, and downhill to fit your preferred riding style.

Features:

  • 29x2.4" tubeless ready clincher tire
  • Optimized for front-wheel use in mixed terrain and conditions
  • Available in trail, enduro, or downhill casing
  • 180/330/660 TPI
  • Weight: 1040g (trail casing)

  • B-Stock - This product has one or more B-Stock units available. These units can be purchased at a discount (see option select). After reading other favorable reviews on these tires on the interwebs I decided that I needed to give them a try too. Tires were easy for me to mount and get the beads to seat (air compressor). Swapped out similar tires from Schwalbe and hit the local trails in PDX. Instantly pleased with the tires, better traction which turned into more confidence on the descents, which turned into more smiles per mile. I recommend giving them a go if you're needing a new set of tires.

Haven't had a chance to fully test durability but the Enduro/Soft casing thickness and tread pattern/depth is perfect for the loose over hard conditions we have in the Front Range in CO.

Replaced worn Butcher which cam on my Levo. This new tire is has a harder rubber which I hope lasts longer. I ride fire roads and single track, which mostly dry all the time . The tire performs great, edges well if you set before the curve but I do wish it came in a 2.6.

I've always been a fan of continental tires but these tires raise the bar to a new level. I wasnt able to buy the downhill casing so I tried the enduro casing for a winter tire. I was impressed to say the least. They are grippy, but not too grippy like some softer tires that create rolling resistance. They are wearing very well for a softish compound and have taken months of abuse in rocky terrain. definitely buying another for the race season.
