Great tire for any season
by Anonymous
Casual Cyclist
It's a great tire in the wet and dry. I feel more confident riding with these on. It's a bit pricey and the treads seem to easily pick up little bits so you may want to double check often that nothing sharp is caught in there.

Loud, harsh ride. Switched to Conti 5000 and 4-season showed no discernable flat prevention over 5000

I used these before i put Conti 5000's on my bike. Had issues with flats from other brands so gave it a try. No flats over caliche, sandstone stretches of up to 1.5 miles on my road bike -- puncture resistance was not the issue. Loud, harsher ride. Did not like the feel at all. Tried Conti 5000's when they came out, replacing these. Ride of course does not compare and traversed the same stretches of caliche and sandstone (cobbles up to 1.5") many times with no flats. With no flatting issues on some ugly road stretches, i will stick with 5000's and have a great tire for the road and the caliche cobbles.

Great traction and puncture resistance

Although this tire was somewhat difficult to change, the traction, wear-ability and puncture resistance make the effort worth while. The side walls are very sturdy. Wearing the tires out without a puncture was a big plus. Now on set #2 after a several thousand miles on set 1.

Great Winter Tires

I have been riding these in all weather for years in Seattle. I have had only a couple of flats, one of them a pinch flat that was my fault. Good grip in all conditions, great wear, and great puncture resistance. I highly recommend!

Great tires
Outstanding tires gone threw three sets this year getting about 3500 miles out of them have ridden almost 12000 miles this year and have only gotten 5 flat tires that sounds like a lot but the trails were I live are close to the roads and I roll across a lot of broken glass so to only get 5 flats is really amazing the tires also roll really nice

Light enough to help performance yet durable enough for a commuter tire unless you are on truly gnarly roads. I only switched to Gatorskin Hardshells because I am riding alone a lot. Gartorskins are much heavier and puncture proof in theory. I

Performance training tire at a value price

As a 3-4,000 mile a year cyclist who doesn't race, finding a value priced tire that has a supple ride, provides superior handling, and durable all in one package is a real bonus. This one measures up in that respect.

Great tires, very durable. Mine have lasted like iron. Only one flat in the last twelve months. Fantastic for the rough conditions and heat we deal with. Highly recommend them.

Great all around tire
2 of 3 customers found this review helpful.
These are my go to tire. Love the 4000s which just retired and have the new 5000s. The 4000s sidewalls has a tendency to blow after so many miles though. These 4 season have good flat protection, good roll and great grip. Rode 4000s and dura skin for years. These are all I ride now. I put on 10000 miles or more a year between commuting and weekend rides and good wheel sets, tires and saddle make all the difference.

Hell yeah!

This year, I decided that no matter the weather or conditions (so long as temps are above 20f and there isn't 3 of snow on the road) that I'm going to put at least 75 miles on the bike each week. Living in Boulder, Co... that can be challenging. With the addition of the GP 4 Seasons, I've lost all but one excuse... Excessive snow. They'd probably be fine in said weather, but I'm not. These things GRIP. I've been riding a lot of slushy, semi-snow covered, sandy, and wet roads, and they don't let go. On top of that, Western Bike Works had the best price on the internet so that was impossible to pass up. I'll definitely be running these tires during the off-season for the foreseeable future and will also purchase from WBW again!

My favorite tire!
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful.
These tires are really good at not puncturing and yet are reasonably light, have good grip in dry and wet, and roll well. Sure, you can race something lighter but for everyday riding, training, and commuting that is still fast and fun, these tires are perfect! Virtually as tough as gatorskins but much better in all other dimensions.
No cons - I've had several and continue to love them.
