Description

Love at first Contact.

Designed for long-lasting performance over a variety of road types and terrains, Continental's Contact Plus Tire provides exceptional puncture protection and versatile grip to make your next bike tour worry-free.

This updated, 650b x 1.6 version of the Contact features Continentals most popular tread design from all of their touring tires. With a smooth center rolling surface with textured shoulders, the semi-smooth tire's chevroned surface easily drives water, mud, muck, and other undesirables to the edges. Featuring Continent's SafetyPlus technology, this tire takes the SafetySystem Breaker and combines it with a highly elastic material, resulting in an extremely puncture and cut resistant casing that even lowers rolling resistance. Additionally, the SafetyPlus Breaker even meets the demands of high-speed e-bikes capable of speeds up to 50 km/h.

Smooth riding tire that grips well and absorbs rough Illinois roads.

Used them on gravel, hard pack single track, chip & seal and asphalt.

When these tires arrived at my door the first thing I noticed is they're heavy. When I mounted them on my fendered Rivendell Saluki I noticed they were bigger than I thought. I had to adjust my fenders. I think they're more like 44's than 42's. They mounted relatively easy. I pumped them up to 25psi not the max rating of 65. I weigh 140 so I don't need them filled up more than that. They ride really nice at that pressure and they corner great. I absolutely love the feel of these tires, I can ride all day. I don't care that they're heavy. I like knowing I will have few if any flats with them. I hope that helps

2K+ miles in 10 months before I gave in for a lighter tire. 1 puncture in that time.

Ridden them on dail commute for 500 miles, zero flats, rolls smooth, good traction.

Cons feel heavy and slow.

Guess I would rather be a little slower than have to stop for a flat in winter
