Introducing the Chris King ARD44: The world's first FusionFiber ® carbon road wheel, a full-tilt speed demon that incorporates everything that makes wheels fast. This is a disc brake wheelset designed for serious cyclists who want all-out speed on flats, climbs and through corners, an aerodynamic wheel that shines across a wide range of terrain, from smooth pavement to rough gravel roads.

King's R45D hub serves as the perfect core for this wheelset, with superior, house-made bearings, perfectly matched races, and single-piece axles. The R45D's flanges are optimized for lateral stiffness and durability. The final piece is Chris King's RingDrive™ system, which maximizes engagement throughout the pedal stroke by providing 45 points of simultaneous engagement.

FusionFiber

The ARD44's FusionFiber ® rim produces a stable, responsive, and nimble ride while reducing bodily fatigue and strain on the rider. Fusion Fiber® produces superior damping attributes because it isn't bonded with epoxy resin. Instead, it uses nylon, which gives it optimal strength, even at higher compliance levels, so the wheels hold traction better, and ride smoother than any other carbon road wheel you've ridden before.

The ARD44 Wheelset is aerodynamically tailored for 28mm-30mm tires, and its 25mm internal width and 30.5mm external width accommodate a broad range of tire sizes generally up to 50mm. The hookless, tubeless rim design simplifies installation and maintenance while optimizing the interface between the tire and rim bed.

Unlike traditional carbon fiber, FusionFiber ® is recyclable. It can be chipped, heated, and reused to make other products. It also requires much less time and energy to form into complex shapes, like bicycle wheel rims, and the process generates much less waste. All good things.

Custom Color

These wheels come stock with black hubs but can be custom ordered in any current Chris King hub color. Select "Custom Color" and leave a note at checkout. Contact Customer Service if you have any further questions.

FREE Cassette Installation - Order a cassette along with a wheelset and we can install the cassette for free. Cassette installation requires special tools that not all our customers have. The cassette will be professionally installed and torqued to spec. Just add "Please install cassette" to your order notes at checkout and we'll take care of you.
