Description

Last Lap, Make It Count

The Challenge Criterium RS TLR Tire aims to enhance the perfect mix of speed, grip and durability, while at the same time providing refined control and shock absorption capabilities thanks to its handmade construction. The Criterium RS comes in a 350tpi Corespun Cotton casing that optimizes weight and comfort. And with the new SMART PRIME compound it becomes one of the lowest rolling resistance tires on the market.

This new compound consistently increases grip in both dry and wet conditions and significantly reduces rolling resistance. It is flexible and shock-absorbing at the same time, bringing the overall tire performance to new levels of safety. SMART PRIME compound stands out where other materials fail, keeping its properties intact under great stress.

Since the beginning Challenge's premise has been to develop bicycle tires that can deliver a premium experience to cycling enthusiasts, amateurs and professional athletes alike. Being an innovative force in the market, Challenge offers a wide range of high-end handmade performance tires, in different disciplines including but not limited to Cyclocross, Gravel, and Road that have created a legacy of champions and utmost customer satisfaction.

Your favorite tire to mount, but faster

If you had trouble mounting Challenge Strada TLRs, just wait until you try these! Ok so these are absolutely horrible to mount just like the Stradas but I have come to expect this. I have my technique down and after that initial mount, they stretch out a bit and are really easy to remount in my experience in case of flat or just swapping tires

I have now put around 4k miles on these things and have to say, the ride quality is definitely improved vs. the Stradas and they are quite durable for how supple and fast they feel. I took them on gravel roads and all sorts of pavement conditions without any issues. Main tread has a very durable and long lasting center strip. The sidewalls are not durable obviously but that is why these things feel so damn good. I

Price is a bit high imo but I am sure these will come down on sale eventually. I would definitely buy again but have so many tires to run.

Tread is great, sidewall is not so great.

They roll quick, they're light and seem to have great puncture protection on the tread surface. But the sidewalls constantly leak tubeless sealant. It then attracts a lot of dirt and grime causing unnecessary clean up. I was told it would go away after a few days but after months it hasn't stopped. I now have to top off my sealant once a month. I also had one sidewall blow out on me at the tread/sidewall seam. I am going to switch back to latex tubes to end the hassle.
