The concept is quite simple: start with the best pad, surround it with a supportive short with good muscle compression, and then remove everything else that's not absolutely necessary.

I've tried A LOT of different bibshorts. These rule. Whether sweating it out indoors or all day on a 100+ mile ride, these always get the job done. In fact, I've stopped wearing all the other bibshorts I own. I think that says it all.
have worn medium Castelli bibs in the endurance series and thought that these might run the same for my 160 lb 5-10 frame- nope. sized up to L - WBW returns was easy and very timely btw- and am very happy with these bibs. snug in the right places, good compression, and the chamois is hands down best i own.
I am 5' 6" (66 inches/ 168cm) I weigh slightly north of 140lbs / 64kg. I am a size small in race cut bibs...Assos, Primal, Endurance, Rapha, Pearl Izumi, all size small.
These are much smaller. They are tight enough that when you take them off, they still feel like they are on. The straps are also TIGHT...
