Gecko Pave Handlebar Tape

Arundel Gecko Pave is a fabric and EVA foam base bar tape, topped with a layer of printed silicone.

Applying a thin layer of silicone made it possible for Arundel to produce a bar tape that is of similar weight to their Gecko Grip while retaining the grippiness and overall feel of pure silicone tape.

I use this tape on my two gravel bikes that each get about 2K miles a year. I've seen others here complain that the color wears off too soon. My experience is that each set lasts about 8 months before the color is worn off. I like the style/colors, it has a good feel on the bars and it gives the bike a bit of personality. For me it's a solid value.....................mgg

I have this tape on my two gravel bikes and I'll pleased with the look and feel of it. I see some criticism here about it wearing too fast, but my experience is that it lasts about 6 months or in my world about 2K miles worth of riding. The colors and patterns are a nice break from single color tapes and the price point makes it a good value. My go-to bar tape...................mgg

Arundel makes great products, and this bar tape does not disappoint. Grippy but supple and good looking. All black looks great on my Aspero.

Qualifier I don't claim to be an expert bar tape wrapper. While I like the look and have gotten several compliments on the look, there are two issues with this tape that I do not like. The first is the application. The elasticity of the tape is significantly greater than the sticky strip attached to the back of the handlebar tape. While the bar tape stretches, the sticky strip on the back does not. You can not stretch this bar tape without causing the two parts to separate. I managed, but it was not easy. The second issue is durability. The outer coating has already come off near the shifters after several months. I average about 120 miles per week.
