I just started cycling to work and I was looking for an unobtrusive lock that wouldn't take space in my backpack. I took a chance on this lock since I was able to secure this to my bike post without really noticing. Works great on the bike rack . Able to secure my front tire along with my frame on my full size road bike. Overall very happy with purchase.
Only have had this a few weeks, but I now use it exclusively. It seems as secure as a U lock and far easier to use. The two features I was looking for flexibility and lighter weight were definitely realized, also the very nice ability to store it on the downtube securely and almost invisibly was better than expected. It was expensive, but still worth it.
At first the lock was difficult to unlock.
Then with some practice I now have the feeling of the locks usefulness.
I would recommend this lock to anyone who values there property.
The only limitations is the distance required to lock Your bike against a post.
You have to find a rail or a post close enough for the lock to secure Your bike.
Pro Has a handy holder. Plastic cover makes it less likely to scratch bike.
Cons Easily picked (youtube Abus Bordo Lite 6050). Easily bolt-cut. Easily sawn. Easily defeated by a ramset. This is not a high security bike lock and certainly not for long-term security. At best, it is handy for a quick stop if you have something to fasten it to, such as grabbing an ice cream cone, a coffee, or, perhaps tying your shoes. It does look secure to someone who doesn't know so that may help, which is why i bother carrying one. Good luck.
