Why I Ride: Meet Emmett Culp, Lovejoy Service Writer
Why do you love bikes?
Whether you're on a chill ride through the park or going full-gas in competition, a bicycle will always be fun!
What's your favorite bike memory?
In 2015, I traveled to Canadian Track Championships to compete in the Elite Men's Omnium. I'd never raced at that level before, but I was determined to compete and see the results. Lining up next to professionals and Canada's best track racers was surreal. After six hard races, I finished 17th overall. The lessons I learned at that track have never left me.
Why do you work in the bike industry?
I want to help other people have great experiences on the bike.
What's your favorite type of riding?
Track racing!
Tell us a story:
My very first century ride in the Indiana countryside was the first time I'd ridden any distance over fifty miles. On an older aluminum Cannondale with worn out components, I got my first taste of what a long day on the road felt like. I loved it, and haven't stopped riding since.
