The Genius 6.6 has been updated with Sidi's advanced Carbon Vent Sole® and other high-tech features from their top road shoe, the Wire. The result is an incredibly efficient, amazingly comfortable piece of footwear that's equally suited for competition or adventure. This Mega version is wider than the standard model, offering improved comfort for riders with larger or wider feet.
As you may have guessed, the Carbon Vent Sole® has earned its moniker thanks to a system of heat dissipating, air channeling ports integrated directly into the carbon. This design prevents overheating by allowing air to rush inside the shoe at strategic locations. And though this level of airflow is perfect for warm days and most race conditions, the vents have also been made closeable, allowing you to stay toasty on chilly rides too. Another prominent change is that the Carbon Vent Sole® is made from TT700 carbon fiber which is 38g lighter than the previous Carbon Lite®. Despite the weight reduction, the sole remains impressively stiff, scoring incredibly high marks in Sidi's in-house deflection test.
Next, new Vented Dual Density insoles provide comfort underfoot and have corresponding perforations to the sole vents for unimpeded airflow. The redesigned Adjustable Heel Retention Device now features ventilated lower area as well, along with a wider design and more compliant material. The result helps eliminate power robbing heel lift without discomfort.
Knowing not to mess with a good thing, Sidi has made no changes to their celebrated retention system. The Genius 6.6 Vent features a ratcheting Caliper Buckle for easy on-bike adjustment, and two High Security Velcro® lower straps for an optimized fit and superior comfort. The Soft Instep Closure System® and padded tongue help eliminate pressure points, and the system has been slightly lighter for a leg up on race day.
The Genius 6.6 Carbon Vent Carbon Road Shoe is available in White/Black Vernice. Of course virtually all of the Wire's small parts are replaceable and readily available, ensuring your shoes stay on the road, season after season. Compatible with standard three bolt road pedals.
