Description
The best gets even better.
Improving on the coveted Ergo 2 was no easy feat, but Sidi has stepped up to the task. They've managed to produce a shoe so devastatingly efficient and so incredibly comfortable that pros sponsored by other manufacturers are rumored to buy them and hide them underneath shoe covers.
The key update to the Ergo 3 is of course the Vent Carbon Sole®. The T700 carbon fiber is 38g lighter than the previous Carbon Lite® version yet impressively stiff, scoring high marks in Sidi's in-house deflection test. As the new name implies, integrated vents have also been incorporated into the design for heat dissipation and comfort, ensuring the Ergo 3 remains comfortable year 'round.
To compliment the new sole, the Ergo 3 has been equipped with Vented Dual Density insoles. The redesigned Adjustable Heel Retention Device now features ventilated lower area as well, along with a wider design and more compliant material for an even better combination of comfort and efficiency.
The Ergo 3 Vent Carbon Shoes are available in White Vernice or Red/White/Black Vernice colors. Virtually all of the small parts are replaceable and readily available, making your high performance Sidi shoes an investment rather than a liability.
Additional Features:
Ratcheting Caliper Buckle for easy on-bike adjustment
Soft Instep Closure System® and padded tongue help eliminate pressure points
Techno II Buckle and High Security Velcro® strap for an optimized fit
Three hole sole drilling for use with standard three bolt road pedals
Note: If you are using Shimano SPD-SL pedals, it is recommended that you use the Shimano SPD-SL 10mm cleat fixing bolt set as the standard 8.5mm Shimano bolts have a tendency to strip the threads of Sidi shoes.

Beautiful shoes, aesthetically and quality wise

I had an earlier Sidi model of the same size. The Ergo is lighter and has better fastners. But, for some reason, for me, the Ergo is not as comfortable for my right foot if I adjust the middle strap at all snug. On the other hand, I am flat footed, so that may contribute, but it wasn't a problem with the other Sidi. However, I do like their aesthetics and workmanship and I like the way the straps fasten. The dial on the middle strap - my previous had both bottom 2 straps velcro - is good, but unfortunately I can barely use the middle adjustment on my right foot. If I didn't have the fit problem with the right shoe, I would give it 5 stars.
