I have used this jacket well beyond its functional ability. It was such an expensive item that I suppose I had really high intentions for this jacket. It is a good jacket but not great by any means. It does a good job of keeping the rain off but it doesn't breath well. I am not typically a heavy sweater but when I wear this jacket on an 8-mile commute to work I am wet from the condensation that builds up on the inside of this jacket due to poor ventilationbreathability. The pit-zips are a great idea but really don't come in very functional due to the fact that the sole purpose of this jacket is to keep the rain off. I am from Portland and it rains often here so that was my foremost intetions of purchasing this jacket. I wanted a jacket to keep the rain off that breathed well.
My jacket also started to shed the threads of the reflective material badly. I work not far from where Showers Pass used to be located on 17th Ave so I stopped by to see if they could provide some exceptional customer service. Totally dissatisfied. The lady working there told me that this was a common problem and started to pull the threads off. She just said that I could pull the threads off as they started to shed. Wow really? A jacket that I paid $150.00 dollars for that was made in China that probably cost very little to make and you are telling me that I just need to pull the frays off as they come loose because this was a bad batch of reflective material. Also most of the tapedsealed seem material is coming loose on the inside of the jacket. I am sure that this is due to the lack of good breathability.
Some things I really like about the jacket. First off I really like the collar on this jacket. I have a long thick neck and this jacket has a collar that fits me better than any jacket that I have ever owned. I is very comfortable with its fleece linning. I also really like the overall cut of this jacket. I am 6'3 and weigh on average 180 pounds. I purchased a Medium sized jacket and it fits me well. It is long enough in the sleeves. It has plenty of room to layer up underneath for cold weather riding. It is cut long in the back. It also has an additional rear extension flap that I absolutely love. I also really like the front chest pocket with headphone port.
