I bought this shoe as an alternative to shoe covers which I found difficult to fit and a pain to use (size 48). This shoe will indeed keep your feet dry and warm down to about 30 degrees with a single pair of winter cycling socks, even the low profile kind which I prefer. These are easy to put on and leave you some extra wiggle room in the winter for circulation. I would suggest one size up from normal. For best results I cover the top velcro ankle closure of the shoe with my rain pants as that particular piece is listed as water resistant. The sole of the shoe is nice and stiff for the transfer of power to the pedals as well. The one thing that keeps it from 5 stars for me is the difficulty of walking in them off the bike. All in all a great shoe for the price and for me, no more annoying shoe covers.
