With Di2 Digital Shifting, these cutting edge STIs provide lightening fast gear changes with less than 2mm of lever travel required per throw. This means immediate response in any competitive scenario and increased reliability over traditional mechanical levers.
The shifter ergonomics are lifted straight from the mechanical Dura-Ace model for proven comfort, though the hoods have been made slightly narrower, as the Di2 levers don't need to accommodate shift housing. Up and down shifts are made using the two pads behind the brake lever, and updated pivot placement makes the brake lever itself easier to access from any handlebar position. Adjustable reach ensures a comfortable fit for riders of all sizes.
The ST-7970 STIs feature unidirectional carbon fiber brake levers and titanium fixing bolts/bands to keep weight to a minimum. The levers use traditional road brake cables and housing (included) and require the Di2 Wire kits (sold separately) to connect them to the battery unit and derailleurs.
