Control, speed and weight savings -- in one complete package. With the 2011 Ksyrium SLR/R-Sys Wheel System Mavic equips their advanced Ksyrium SR wheelset with cutting edge integrated tire technology.

By figuring tires into the design process, Mavic is able to ensure precise handling, efficient acceleration, and exceptional durability over a wide variety of racing/training conditions. The front and rear tires also use different rubber compounds optimized for their specific applications, so you get grip where you need it most and uninhibited speed.

The rims, like the Ksyrium SR, feature a Maxtal alloy construction with 22mm front/25mm rear profiles. Inter Spoke Milling removes excess material from the alloy, furthering the weight reduction without sacrificing strength. Fore-drilling drops a few more while eliminating the need for a rim strip. The unique Exalith brake track also reduces weight, while simultaneously increasing wear resistance and providing a stealth, all-black look. Special pads are required for the Exalith surface and are included with each wheelset.

Zicral alloy bladed spokes on the front wheel and rear drive side offer aerodynamic efficiency and reliable strength, while Tracomp carbon fiber spoke technology on the rear drive side delivers reduced weight and even better power transfer. The Tracomp principle works on traction and compression; under normal loads wheel deflection is limited by the very high traction resistance of the carbon material, yet under greater loads the spokes enter into compression and keep supporting the rim, preventing further wheel deflection.

The front hub features a carbon body for additional weight savings and modern style, while the rear boasts Mavic's FTS-L freehub body for efficient power transfer. Of course, both hubs use the coveted QRM+ for smooth performance and easy adjustability.

18 spokes front (laced radially) and 20 rear (laced 2x). 700c (622 ISO). Includes: BR601 quick release, Computer magnet, User guide and warranty card, Spoke wrench, Bearing adjustment tool, Rim tape, Spoke holder for aerodynamic spokes, Valve extender and brake pads for Exalith brake track.

Both tires are 700c x 23mm with a supple 127 TPI casing and 116 PSI max pressure. And if you want to throw on your favorite rubber, you can rest assured the Cosmic Carbone SLR Wheels are compatible with any standard clincher.
