With the Cosmic Carbone SLE Wheel System Mavic equips their reasonably priced Cosmic Carbone SL aero wheelset with cutting edge integrated tire technology. By figuring tires into the design process, Mavic is able to ensure precise handling, efficient acceleration, and exceptional durability over a wide variety of racing/training conditions. The front and rear tires also use different rubber compounds optimized for their specific applications, so you get grip where you need it most and uninhibited speed.

Like the standard SL model, a 12K carbon section is bonded to a lightweight Maxtal alloy rim section with a 52mm deep profile for incredible aerodynamics at a lower weight than previous alloy materials. Inter Spoke Milling removes excess material from the alloy section, furthering the weight reduction without sacrificing strength. What makes this SLE rim unique is the hard-wearing Exalith brake track, this new technology eliminates premature rim wear and provides a totally blacked-out look (required brake pads included).

Straight pull bladed steel spokes on the front and rear wheels offer aerodynamic efficiency and exceptional strength. 16 spokes laced radially front with 20 rear spokes laced radially non-drive and 2X drive side with internal nipples. Smooth QRM+ bearings are easy to maintain and the FTS-L freehub body offers efficient power transfer and minimal weight.

Both tires are 700c x 23mm with a supple 127 TPI casing and 116 PSI max pressure. And if you want to throw on your favorite rubber, you can rest assured the Cosmic Carbone SLE Wheels are compatible with any standard clincher.

Actual weight: 2433g (1109g front; 1324g rear) including tires. The claimed weight for the wheels without tires is 1755g. Includes brake pads for Exalith brake track. Shimano/SRAM 8/9/10 or Campagnolo 9/10/11 compatible.
