Pedal through the winter with dry and toasty feet.

Louis Garneau has specially designed the Glacier RD Road Shoe to excel in harsh conditions. A waterproof zipper and Thinsulate waterproof lining keep out the elements, and a bit of extra room between the laces and outer fabric offers easy compatibility with heatpacks. A fiberglass-reinforced road outsole and aluminum-coated insole to provide protection and insulation from the cold. A hook and loop outer strap ensures a secure fit.

The Glacier RD Road Shoe is available in Black and features reflective accents. Compatible with three bolt road cleats.

Keeps your feet dry and warm on your city commute

I use these shoes when it rains in Portland Oregon for my 14 mile round trip commute to and from work. While shopping for some new shoe covers the people at Western Bike Works suggested that I invest in a water proof shoe. I was skeptical but after a couple of days shopping I went back and picked a pair up. I am very happy with them for my commute. My feet have stayed warm with temperatures in the low 30s. My feet have mostly stayed dry except if it is a massive downpour on a couple of those occasions the water slid down the seal around my leg (I've found this common with shoe covers too). I am expecting them to hold up a lot better than shoe covers and so far the indication is that they will but I've only been cycling with them for a few months.

LG Glacier is a well made, albeit a tad fussy high top cycling shoe.

I use the shoe in 20-40F hour long rides. The high top makes the shoe difficult to get into while hanging on to both pull tabs. Often the tongue or heel surround will fold over, forcing me to remove the shoe and start over. The zipper is tough to get up over the cord lock. I am afraid the zipper will eventually tear. A little extra fabric around the zipper would help. Shoe feels great on, nice and stiff, no pressure points, but very secure. They are well made and after MUCH searching,I was thrilled that WBW had them in my size (37), nobody else came close! While Glacier is no warmer than regular shoe and Amphib bootie, it is nice not having to put a bootie on. If it gets down to below 20, I will try to put bootie over Glacier, that should be toasty. At the end of an hour at 24 degrees, my feet were becoming uncomfortable the other morn.
