Description Luxurious comfort and uncompromising power. The Factor Road Shoe offers virtually all the features of Giro's feathery ProLight SLX with more adjustability for nearly custom comfort, and just a few extra grams.
Like Giro's other top-tier models, the Factor features the amazing Teijin AG100 microfiber upper. This super supple material delivers unmatched breathability and also features unique foot conforming properties to provide an incredibly comfortable form fit. For the retention system Giro uses a replaceable ratcheting buckle and two-offset straps for adjustability, security and pressure relief. A smart D-ring adjusting center strap has also been added for an additional level of customization.
For the sole, Giro borrows the top performing Easton® EC90 carbon fiber which is incredibly stiff and light as a feather. This is the same material used in Easton's most advanced bike parts. On the inside, the SuperNatural footbed cushions and supports with cycling-specific padding and three included inserts which allow you to fine-tune your shoe's arch support for a perfectly tailored fit. Giro has also added X-Static, an anti-microbial fiber which helps reduce bacterial and fight odors.
The Factor weighs 255 grams in size 42 . Compatible with standard three-bolt road cleats. Available colors: White (Red accents), Black (Red accents) and Red/White.

Existing reviews pretty much sum it up These shoes are extremely comfortable at the same time as being almost as light as anything on the market and incredibly stiff. I am using the max arch support and I do not need insoles of any kind. Foot placement feels perfect and much more centered and powerful than on previous shoes and break in was minimal to non-existent. Have been using with an extra sock liner, but will likely stop in warmer weather.
As light and comfortable as they are, its the little details that let you know how much effort and research went into designing and producing these shoes. The ratchet works cleanly and the release is extremely easy to use while extracting the strap with the same hand.The way the tongue places and fits and never interferes with or overlaps the tightening mechanism is a tiny detail that will drive you crazy if its not right, and here it is definitely right, and there are no discernible pressure points. Shoes are pretty new, so we'll see how they stretch and break in, but at this point there is no reason to think there will be any issues.
