Description
Luxurious comfort and uncompromising power. Giro answers the call of competitive XC and cyclocross riders with the high-performance Code MTB Shoe.
Like Giro's other top-tier models, the Code features the amazing Teijin AG100 microfiber upper. This super supple material delivers unmatched breathability and also features unique foot conforming properties to provide an incredibly comfortable form fit. Scuff guards at the shoe's most exposed areas deliver extra protection off-road. For the retention system, Giro uses a replaceable ratcheting buckle and two-offset straps for adjustability, security and pressure relief. A smart D-ring adjusting center strap has also been added for an additional level of customization.
For the sole, Giro borrows the top performing Easton® EC90 carbon fiber which is incredibly stiff and light as a feather. This is the same material used in Easton's most advanced bike parts. The extra durable lugs are hard-wearing with exceptional traction, and the sole accommodates toe-spikes (included) for seriously messy conditions.
On the inside, the SuperNatural footbed cushions and supports with cycling-specific padding and three included inserts which allow you to fine-tune your shoe's arch support for a perfectly tailored fit. Giro has also added X-Static, an anti-microbial fiber which helps reduce bacterial and fight odors.
The Code weighs 355 grams in size 42. Compatible with standard two-bolt MTB cleats. Available colors: White/Black (Red accents), Black (Red accents) and Magnesium*/Black.
*Style tip: Giro's Magnesium color perfectly matches the Mag finish on Easton Haven components.

Have had Sidid for years, then Specialized, These Giro's have it all and will continue to be my shoe. The fit is the best I've felt. Support is great and so is the weight. Right amount of ventaliation too.

Great shoes with a wider fit in the toe box.

I race cyclocross as well as do a significant amount of trail riding and commuting in the city. I have previously used Sidi Dominadors, Mavic (the lower end MTB shoes), and various Shimano MTB shoes for all types of riding. These Giros are probably my favorite for a few reasons.
One is that I have a wider toe box and high arch - these shoes have a good sized toe box without the whole shoe being wider as well as an insole included that has adjustable arch supports.
Fit aside, they are also excellent shoes for 'cross as they feature a decent tread pattern and good toe spike placement. The only gripe would be that the tread is rather hard and can slide around a bit more than other shoes on concrete and the like. But they ARE racing shoes.
In terms of price and what you get, I'd buy these again in a heartbeat.
