Description The Mares goes high-tech. With the new CX 2.0, Focus has equipped their pro-level carbon Cyclocross frame with a Shimano Ultegra Di2 electronic drivetrain, ensuring flawless shifting through the muddiest courses.
The 2013 CX frame features flattened carbon tubes for super-strong, ultra-stiff performance and maximum weight savings. The frame geometry has also been slightly tweaked for better tire clearance, eliminating clogged wheels in the muddiest race conditions. Like last year's model, a BB30 bottom bracket shell ensures greater efficiency and improved power transfer compared to traditional outboard bearing crank systems.
With the new CX-specific "Bull Dog" fork comes more efficient cable routing -- the fork crown mounted housing stop provides better stopping power and modulation up front, and the new tapered steerer tube ensures precise handling while shaving a few additional grams.
Build highlights include a Shimano Ultegra Di2 drivetrain and CX70 crankset, Fulcrum CX 6.5 wheelset, and Avid Shorty Ultimate cantilever brakes. The Mares CX 2.0 is available Black/White/Red.
