Description Go Pro at a friendlier price. The 2011 Izalco Pro 3.0 takes over for the Izalco Expert, winner of the 2010 Bicycling Magazine Editors' Choice Award. The frame is largely based on the Team Milram frame you may have also noticed in the 2010 Tour de France, yet the components have been carefully selected to balance performance, weight, and most importantly -- a more approachable price tag.
The German-engineered carbon frame uses the Stable Stiffness per Size system, where the tubing diameter is increased in relation to the tube's length. This means that larger bikes don't sacrifice stiffness, and frames of every size respond exceptionally.
The Carbon Layup construction process produces thinner tubes which reduce weight and increase stiffness throughout. Highly compressed and strengthened Carbon dropouts shave weight over aluminum designs and reduce flex even more at this critical power transfer location. Internal cable tunnels provide a clean a look and aerodynamic advantage, while also increasing torsional stiffness.
Component highlights include Shimano Ultegra shifters and drivetrain, Mavic Ksyrium Equipe wheels, and the FSA SLK Light BB30 crankset.
