You really can have it all. The X-King Race Sport is a new addition to Conti's impressive 2011 MTB line up, boasting a versatile hybrid tread pattern, proven Black Chili rubber compound, and a lightweight casing.

The tread delivers an unmatched balance of speed and grip, making the X-King well suited for racing over a wide range of conditions and perfect for the serious Marathon or extended tour. Rounded symmetrical knobs have been placed in the center of the tire, for great traction when braking, accelerating and climbing, all while minimizing rolling resistance. Sharp side lugs further cornering traction without slowing you down on the straightaways.

  • Advanced Black Chili rubber compound with dense particles for speed, grip and durability
  • Supple Race Sport casing with 3 fabric plies for a total of 180 TPI
  • Recommended pressure: 50 PSI. Max. pressure: 65 PSI
  • Folding bead
  • Handmade in Germany

I'm one for two getting these to stay inflated. Front tire is fine but the back tire despite staying inflated for 24 hrs in the house has never made it more than 2 miles on the trail. Many similar reports with only a few success stories on MTBR. Steer clear of these if you want a reliable tubeless experience. I've executed the full Stans sealant process on a Mavic 819 rim including days of laying it sideways and shaking it every few hours to ensure all holes can seal. A few miles a on the trail always opens new ones. My experience with other tubeless ready tires (GEAX TNT) was flawless and reliable for 4 yrs....

Traction is excellent but only under 30 psi. Unfortunately this is also about where they start to get squirmy under a 170 lb rider. I'm debating now whether to pursue warranty for the flaky tire or just sell them to a friend that runs tubes.
