The unmistakable Whisper has built up an impressive palmarès -- with victories in both Olympic road and XC races, and a road World Champ title to boot, this rule breaking design continues to pave the way in terms of safety, comfort, and of course, style.
The most prominent features in Catlike's top tier helmet are without a doubt the 39 signature 'honeycomb' air intakes. These vents aren't just there for looks, they're arranged using Catlike's Dual-Flow system, a process which connects the large front intakes to large rear exit ports. This design allows the helmet to take in cool air and expel hot air with incredible efficiency, keeping you comfortable even at slower speeds.
In addition to their airflow role, the unique vents also a critical safety feature. This is made possible thanks to a technology Catlike calls CES, or Crash Energy Splitter. By specially shaping and arranging each vent, they're able to distribute impact stress throughout the helmet, rather than being localized in one spot.
To further crash protection , the shell itself benefits from an In-Mold construction process, meaning the rigid outer shell is joined directly to the polystyrene core, a design which also works to diffuse stress in the event of a crash. Next, LNP (Lower Nape Protection) is added, this extension to the lower rear section of the helmet provides additional protection to the lower neck and back of the head.
Finally, this new Whisper model features the MPS Evo retention system reserved for Catlike's top helmets. Separate horizontal and vertically adjusting pads have been strategically placed for lateral and occipital support (the sides and back of the skull). This allows the helmet to accommodate heads of all shapes sizes. The fit of each support is controlled by a lightweight Micro-Metrical wheel for easy on the bike customization. Inside the helmet, replaceable Coolmax pads offer moisture regulation and cushioning.
