The Gabba jacket is the best at keeping you protected from the elements. I used this jacket on a 3 hour winter ride in the rain-snow in the middle of February and kept me nice and warm. Also kept me dry, as this jacket breathes very well. The rear extra flab provides protection and is a great design addition for keeping the backside protected from the elements.

Extremely versatile jacket

I work hard on every ride. So a sleeveless base layer and a Gabba are good around 5 degree Celsius. I wouldn't wear this above 15 degree Celsius though. It would be too warm after a few climbing or sprinting. It is working great under misty or drizzling. My core is always dry and warm. Highly recommend it. There is new color released with Garmin-Sharp team. It will be even popular.

Quite simply, this jacket/jersey changes the game in weather between 55 and 40 degrees. No more layering, no more worrying about rain, you just put this on and go. For my morning commutes I sometimes add a rain jacket over or a jersey & arm warmers underneath for some additional warmth if it's below 40, but this has massively simplified the on going question of how to best dress for cooler temps, the only problem is I only have one of them. In the rain it's quite simply amazing, the way it sheds water makes you seek out wet fall rides. Best piece of kit I own, hands down.

Great Product!

I purchased this Gabba jacket in hopes to fill in the gap in my cycling wardrobe between summer and winter. After wearing this for over a month now, I can see that it will do far more then that. First, the quality is top notch, it has 3 large pockets in the back that have elastic to keep them closed. The sleeves can be completely removed and stored in a pocket if you get too hot. It fits more like a racing jersey then a jacket, so there is nothing that flaps around. If you never purchased anything from Castelli, the sizing runs a little small. For example I have a PI long sleeve thermal jersey that is a med and it's a little loose on me, I got this in a Large and it fits perfectly (it is like a race cut jersey). It is totally windproof, and so far I have worn it down to temperatures of 33f without anything under it and was perfectly comfortable. I think this will work fine all winter with 1 or 2 tech layers under it. I don't think I would want to wear it below freezing without a layer underneath it. I have also worn it in temps up to about 45f and it performed equally well (although I had to unzip it a little). I have not tried it in the rain yet so I can not comment on that, but based on how it has performed so far, it is an excellent product and I would buy another one.

Best piece of cycling apparel I've ever owned.

The Castelli Gabba is an incredibly well made, versatile jacket. I am 5' 10, 160 lbs with 40 chest and 31 waist. I have difficulty finding perfect fit in cycling tops most are either too tight in chest or too loose in waist. When I first put the Gabba jacket on and tried to zip I thought This is so tight at the waist its never going to fit. But it fits like a glove everywhere. Now my favorite piece of clothing. Great when temps in 50's with short-sleeve insulation layer, high 40's with long-sleeve insulation layer or low 60's with sleeves off. Yes, its difficult to remove the sleeves while riding, as others have note, and impossible to put them back on without getting off bike. But this is a small price to pay for such an awesome piece. Castelli is making some of the best clothing on the market. As nice as anything by Assos or Giordana at almost half the price!

Aero fit, adaptability to conditions and warmth make this a versatile wardrobe addition.

For weather below 55 degrees, especially wet conditions, this jacket is terrific. Removing the sleeves and using Castelli Nanotech arm warmers increases the versatility for warmer temperatures. I have so far used this jacket primarily for warmth down to 40 degrees with a Craft SL base layer, and it breathed well. No rain or snow yet, but the fabric beads water effectively in the sink. This jacket will let me ride comfortably down to freezing temperatures, which are my limit. My most expensive and valuable piece of clothing.

This jacket is now my go-to piece of gear for most springfall riding. I was really surprised with how well this thing works. I now understand all the Gabba hype. It's windproof, waterproof, fits tight and aero like a jerseyjacket should and it's so versatile. In the high 30slow 40s? Wear it with a baselayer. In the 40s-50s? Wear it alone. Gets up into the 50s towards 60, you can take the sleeves off and it becomes a 100% windproof jersey.

Water just rolls off it, it's pretty amazing when the weather turns nasty. It really makes riding in coolwindywet weather much easier. I was worried that it would be a rain-only jacket, but i use it all the time. Money well spent.

FYI...I'm 6' 4 190lbs with a 42 inch chest and I wear a XL (very snug, no flapping). If you know your size in Castelli, this thing is true to size. Oh and it looks great with a pair of Sorpasso knickers )

Have had this jacket for a few weeks and I'm already sold on it, my only regret is that I wish I had bought it earlier.

Great jacket in all aspects rain and wind. I've worn this down to 30's with a base layer, best part is sleeves come of when the temps rise.
