Description Campagnolo's top crankset gets even better. Furthering the quest for perfection, the 2011 Super Record 11 Titanium crank delivers a few critical updates for flawless shifting and an even lighter weight.
This model uses Titanium Ultra Torque half-axles which are 25% lighter yet equally as strong when compared to the steel spindle used on the standard 2011 crank. The Hirth fixing bolt which secures the two halves is also Titanium, dropping the weight even more.
The Ceramic Ultimate Level Technology (CULT) ceramic bearings are lifted directly from last year's design for super smooth performance great wear resistance. The Ultra-hollow arm construction also remains unchanged, reducing weight by removing excess material from the center of the arm and spider without reducing strength. Tough unidirectional carbon is incredibly stiff with a top layer of multi-directional carbon over the greatest stress points.
The 2011 SR crank's most striking update is the XPSS™ (eXtreme Performance Shifting System)-- redesigned chainring tooth profiles and updated shift guide pins offer improved chain engagement for lightening fast, accurate shifting in both directions. Campy also manages to reduce weight off this new chainring design by threading four out of five chainring bolts directly into the small ring, eliminating the need for chainring nuts. Alloy chainring bolts shave off a few more grams, while the hard andodized ring finish ensures superior durability. Available in Standard (53/39) or Compact (50/34) configurations.
