Description
Performance you can take to the bank. Campagnolo's 2011 Chorus 11-speed crankeset offers all the great features of its Record and Super Record counterparts with a little bit of additional weight, steel bearings and a friendlier price tag.
The unidirectional carbon skeleton is light and strong with a multi-directional weaved top layer which is specifically placed to cross the greatest stress points. The resulting design may not be as light as the hollow arm construction used on the Record and Super Record models, but it significantly reduces the price without tacking on too much extra weight. An updated surface treatment further increases corrosion resistance.
Like Campy's Record and SR offerings, the new Chorus crank's most striking update is the XPSS™ (eXtreme Performance Shifting System)-- redesigned chainring tooth profiles and updated shift guide pins offer improved chain engagement for lightening fast, accurate shifting in both directions. Campy also manages to reduce weight off this new chainring design by threading four out of five chainring bolts directly into the small ring, eliminating the need for chainring nuts. Alloy chainring bolts shave off a few more grams, while the hard andodized ring finish ensures superior durability. Available in Standard (53/39) or Compact (50/34) configurations.
Alloy chainring bolts. Available with White graphics. Compatible with 11-speed systems only. 723 gram claimed weight. Requires Ultra Torque Bottom Bracket Cups (sold separately ).
