Campagnolo's most affordable 11-speed group gets even better for 2011. Positioned just after Chorus in their hierarchy, Athena 11-speed components offer many of the high-end features and advanced designs of the competition level groups with slightly heavier materials, adding a bit of weight to each piece without sacrificing excellent performance.

The updated Athena crankset features Power-Torque technology with a full length spindle integrated into the right crank arm. This design eliminates the mid-shell hirth bolt of last year's model, simplifying the installation process while ensuring an incredibly rigid ride quality.

The brake calipers are also now available in non-differentiated or differentiated sets, with dual or single pivot rear brakes respectively. The dual pivot rear provides equal front and rear stopping power, while the single pivot rear reduces power where its needed less while shaving a few additional grams.

The cassette and chain used are Chorus models. 2383g average weight.
