Bell Lumen Helmet

Best helmet I've owned. I believe the old adage that if you've got a cheap head get a cheap helmet, but quality and price are not the same thing in bike helmets, I've paid $200 for rubbish that has parts break after a couple of months - I'm talking about you Giro! This Bell Lumen fits me really well, is comfortable even on 200 mile ultra distance events and let me just shake the dust off after a 25 MPH crash that bounced my head off the pavement several times, nothing gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling about a helmet like that kind of experience!

The Lumen is a great buy on a really nice helmet. The fit is easily adjustable and - at least for me - fits as well as any other, regardless of price. The overall weight is great - lighter than some much more expensive helmets. I don't have experience with a crash, but have read reviews that praised that area. So what's not to like?

I commute to work during the week on an urban bike as well as do extended rides on weekends on my road bike and this helmet fits the bill. If fits me better than other Bell models as well as other brands I've tried. The only minor complaint I have is that I have to re-tighten the strap every few rides but I think almost all helmets use the same type of strap system.
