Description Tubeless for the tarmac. The American Classic Road Tubeless Wheels bring the benefits of tube-free tires to an incredibly lightweight, high performance build.
It all starts with a 310 gram aluminum rims featuring a minimalist, rounded profile for strength and a slight aerodynamic edge. A "barb" along in the inner edge of the rim is used to lock tubeless-ready road tires in place, creating an airtight seal and eliminating sealant "burps." Two layers of custom American Classic along the rim bed are also used to prevent air from escaping through the spoke holes.
At the heart of the front wheel is the high tech Micro 58 hub for weight reduction and wind efficiency. Despite its small stature, the Micro 58 features extra wide flanges for wide bearing placement and increased stiffness. The special High/Low rear hub matches a high flange up with 3 cross laced rear drive side spokes and a low flange to radial laced non-drive side spokes for an increase in stiffness without excessive weight. The freehub body has reinforced sections to prevent the cassette from chewing in without a weight penalty and the pawl mechanism has been upgraded for quicker engagement and better power transfer. Special 14/16 gauge butted AC Bladed spokes hold it all together. 24 spokes are used front and rear. Radial lacing is used for the front and rear non-drive side and 3 cross lacing is used for the rear drive side. This build keeps weight to a minimum providing reliable strength for competition and training. Accessible alloy nipples also means easy serviceability.
The claimed weight for the Road Tubeless Wheelset is 1179 grams. Shimano/SRAM 8/9/10 or Campagnolo 9/10/11 compatible versions are available. Each set of wheels contains Ti quick release skewers. 700c. Color: AC Black Uppercut with White Hubs.
The Road Tubeless Wheelset is compatible with road tubeless tires right out of the box but can also be used with standard clincher tires and inner tubes.
